History
In the fall of 2006, Tim & Karen Dance met a family from New Freedom and began a discussion about starting a new church. Over the months that followed, God gathered other families for bi-weekly core group meetings to seek direction from God. The church where Tim was serving in Elkton, MD was very supportive of the church plant, and in the spring of 2007 he was ordained and sent-out with financial support. That June, about ten families gathered for worship at the YMCA. By God’s grace, He has been growing His church ever since.
In the winter of 2007, the YMCA completed renovations on the building and Living Hope began meeting in the current worship area. In the fall of 2008 the first deacons were installed and the first elder followed in the winter of 2009. In the beginning of 2010, the church leased some office and meeting space in the Factory in Shrewsbury. The leadership intends to continue gathering at the YMCA for Sunday worship until the facility is outgrown or God provides clear direction to pursue other meeting space.
